March 7, 2023 – Terumo today announced results from a prospective registry study reinforcing the safety, efficacy and efficiency of radial access in visceral interventions (R.A.V.I.) for embolization procedures.

The R.A.V.I. registry evaluated outcomes of transradial access, an approach entering the body through the wrist rather than the groin, in patients undergoing visceral embolization procedures, demonstrating favorable safety and efficacy outcomes along with improved procedural efficiency.

"These registry results support the growing body of evidence for transradial access as a safe and effective alternative approach for visceral embolization procedures," said a Terumo representative. "Radial access offers meaningful benefits for both physicians and patients, including improved patient comfort and faster recovery."

The findings from the R.A.V.I. registry are expected to support continued adoption of radial access techniques among interventional radiologists performing visceral embolization procedures.
