TOKYO, JAPAN – December 1, 2022 – Terumo Corporation today announced that all users of the Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System on insulin therapy in Japan will now be covered by insurance, expanding patient access to this glucose monitoring technology.
This expanded insurance coverage removes a significant cost barrier for patients on insulin therapy who could benefit from continuous glucose monitoring, supporting better diabetes management through real-time glucose data.
"This expanded coverage is an important step in improving access to continuous glucose monitoring technology for patients with diabetes in Japan," said a Terumo representative. "We are committed to helping ensure that more patients on insulin therapy can benefit from this important tool for diabetes management."
The Dexcom G6 System provides real-time glucose readings, helping patients and their healthcare providers make more informed treatment decisions and potentially improving overall diabetes management outcomes.
