Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies’ Reveos® Automated Whole Blood Processing System Cleared by FDA for U.S. Commercial Use

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – August 1, 2023 – Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies today announced that its Reveos® Automated Whole Blood Processing System has been cleared by the U.S. FDA for commercial use, marking an important milestone in bringing this innovative blood processing technology to U.S. blood centers.

The Reveos System automates the separation of whole blood into its components, replacing multiple manual processing steps with a single automated process, designed to help blood centers improve efficiency, standardization and blood component yield.

"This FDA clearance is a significant achievement that will allow us to bring the benefits of automated whole blood processing to blood centers across the United States," said a Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies representative. "The Reveos System represents a meaningful advancement in blood processing technology."

The system is designed to help blood centers increase throughput and standardize blood component production while reducing the manual labor associated with traditional whole blood processing methods.
