SOMERSET, N.J. – January 18, 2023 – Terumo Medical Corporation today announced that the first patient has been treated and enrolled in its Osprey Iliac IDE clinical trial, evaluating a stent system for the treatment of iliac artery disease.
The Osprey Iliac trial is an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) study designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Terumo's stent technology in treating patients with iliac artery occlusive disease, a form of peripheral artery disease.
"Enrolling our first patient in the Osprey Iliac trial marks an important step toward bringing this technology to patients with iliac artery disease," said a Terumo Medical Corporation representative. "We look forward to generating robust clinical evidence to support this important treatment option."
The trial will enroll patients at multiple clinical sites, building a comprehensive body of clinical evidence to support future regulatory submissions for the device.
